Cervelo Aspero Apex XPLR AXS 1

The Cervelo Aspero Apex XPLR AXS 1 is a performance-focused carbon gravel bike built for riders who prioritize speed, responsive handling and efficient riding across fast gravel and mixed terrain.

This build combines the Aspero carbon platform with a SRAM Apex XPLR AXS 1x12 wireless drivetrain, Reserve gravel wheels and high-volume WTB tires for a capable setup designed around modern gravel racing and fast off-road riding.

Carbon Aspero Gravel Frame

The Aspero was developed around a simple idea: make a gravel bike that feels fast.

Its carbon frame combines responsive handling with aerodynamic refinement, giving riders an efficient platform for gravel racing, high-speed training and long mixed-surface rides.

Improved Aerodynamics and Ride Compliance

This generation of the Aspero reduces aerodynamic drag compared with the previous platform while also using dropped seatstays and revised front-end stiffness to improve comfort during longer rides.

The result maintains the quick handling associated with the Aspero while adding greater compliance for rough gravel and extended race efforts.

SRAM Apex XPLR AXS 1x12 Drivetrain

The bike uses a SRAM Apex XPLR AXS electronic drivetrain, providing wireless shifting with a gravel-specific 1x setup.

The rear derailleur is paired with SRAM Apex AXS controls and hydraulic disc brakes, keeping the cockpit clean while providing precise shifting and dependable braking across changing terrain.

40T Chainring and 11-44T Cassette

This build pairs a 40-tooth SRAM Apex 1 D1 crankset with an 11-44T SRAM Apex XPLR 12-speed cassette.

The wide-range gearing provides useful climbing capability while maintaining the simplicity and chain retention benefits of a dedicated 1x gravel drivetrain.

Reserve 30 GR AL Gravel Wheels

The Aspero Apex XPLR AXS 1 rolls on Reserve 30 GR AL wheels with Reserve 4LD hubs.

The aluminum gravel wheelset is tubeless compatible and designed to handle the repeated impacts, loose surfaces and varied terrain associated with gravel riding.

WTB Vulpine 700x45c Tires

The wheels are paired with WTB Vulpine TCS Light Fast Rolling 700x45c tires.

The high-volume gravel tires provide additional traction and comfort while retaining a fast-rolling tread pattern suited to hardpack gravel and mixed road surfaces.

Carbon Handlebar and Seatpost

Cervelo equips this build with an AB09 carbon handlebar featuring a 16-degree flare.

The wider stance in the drops provides additional control when riding loose or technical terrain while retaining an efficient position for faster sections.

SP19 Carbon Seatpost

A Cervelo SP19 carbon seatpost complements the carbon frame and handlebar while helping keep the overall build focused on performance.

T47 Threaded Bottom Bracket

The current Aspero uses a T47 threaded bottom bracket system, combining a large bearing interface with a service-friendly threaded design.

This replaces the press-fit approach used on earlier versions and simplifies long-term maintenance.

UDH-Compatible Frame

The frame also uses a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH).

In addition to making replacement hangers easier to source, the UDH platform provides compatibility with newer drivetrain technologies and gives the frame greater flexibility for future component upgrades.

Internal Cable Routing

Cable and brake-hose routing has been refined for a cleaner cockpit and frame appearance.

The Aspero platform also allows riders to move toward a more fully integrated cockpit configuration using compatible Cervelo components if desired.

Built for Fast Gravel Riding

The Cervelo Aspero is best suited to riders who approach gravel with a performance mindset.

Rather than prioritizing loaded bikepacking capability, its geometry, drivetrain and component choices are oriented toward:

• Gravel racing

• Fast mixed-surface riding

• Long-distance gravel events

• Hardpack and rolling terrain

• High-speed training

• Riders looking for road-bike-like responsiveness off pavement
