The Specialized S-Works Ares Road Shoes are high-performance cycling shoes designed for secure foot retention, efficient power transfer and precise fit during demanding road rides.
Their supportive construction combines a stiff FACT Powerline carbon outsole, Dyneema-reinforced upper and Specialized Body Geometry design to create a stable platform for hard accelerations, climbing and high-intensity riding.
FACT Powerline Carbon Sole & BOA Fit
The FACT Powerline carbon outsole carries Specialized's maximum Stiffness Index 15, providing a rigid platform for efficient power transfer.
A dual BOA Li2 Fit System allows precise micro-adjustment, while the wraparound closure helps distribute pressure across the foot and maintain a secure fit.
Dyneema-reinforced sections limit unwanted stretch, and the PadLock heel construction helps keep the heel firmly positioned during powerful efforts.
Body Geometry Performance Fit
Specialized's Body Geometry design incorporates longitudinal arch support, a Varus Wedge and metatarsal support to encourage efficient lower-body alignment while pedaling.
The Form Fit last provides a close performance fit with additional room around the toe box, while ventilation throughout the upper helps manage heat during longer rides.
Approximate weight is 220g per shoe in size 42.
Are these the S-Works Ares 2?
No. This listing is for the original S-Works Ares Road Shoes. The S-Works Ares 2 is a separate, newer model.
Do the S-Works Ares have carbon soles?
Yes. They use Specialized's FACT Powerline carbon outsole with a Stiffness Index of 15.
What cleats are compatible with the S-Works Ares?
The shoes use a standard three-bolt road cleat interface compatible with major road pedal systems.
